Dear Colleagues in Correctional Chaplaincy:
On behalf of all your elected officers, Dale Hale, Dan Williams, Laurie Etter, Steve Hall, Vance Drum and myself, I wish to take this opportunity to thank the membership for electing us to serve you in this wonderful organization for the next two years in our respective offices. We are grateful to our immediate predecessors for the fine job they did and their assistance in a smooth transition, which is still ongoing.
If you click on to the "Contact Us" section of this Web Site you will find contact information for all those who serve on your Executive Council. The Executive Council consists of elected officers, the Immediate Past President, Regional Managers, Chairpersons of Standing Committees and faith group representatives.
Currently, there are openings on some of our committees. I hope that members reading this might consider an appointment to a committee. The following committees all have at least three openings available: Communications Committee, Constitution and By-Laws Committee and Standards Committee. The Research, Planning and Development Committee and the Budget Committee each have at least four openings. Please consider becoming more involved by serving on a committee. If you are interested, please contact me directly.
Our organization will optimize its potential to the extent that we can get as many persons as possible involved at the grass roots level. I urge you to attend your annual Regional Meeting or to at least remain in close communication with your Regional Manager. I realize that it may be difficult to attend National Meetings, due to cost constraints or other reasons, but hopefully you will consider attending, especially if it is within at reasonable distance from your home. Speaking from personal experience, I can assure you that participation at a National Meeting will be a very affirming occasion and will motivate you to become even more passionate about your vital role in corrections. We do make a real difference-individually and collectively!
Every day brings new blessings. They are wonderful gifts to us.
Every day brings new challenges. They also are gifts to us. For with each challenge comes unfailing divine assistance to not only successfully meet that challenge but to become better prepared for even greater challenges, which also shall come. In faith, then, let us confidently proceed.
Fraternally,
Anthony J. Bruno
President
