ACCA Conducts Workshop at AJA Expo
A very successful two-hour workshop was conducted by ACCA on April 28th at the American Jail Association's annual national 'Jail Expo' in Birmingham, Alabama. The workshop was attended by more than 100 jail administrators, program coordinators, chaplains, attorneys and other detention facility functionaries.
ACCA Communications Chairman Gary Friedman moderated the session with ACCA President Paul Rogers and ACCA jail chaplain member Bob Toll covering a wide range of jail-related religious issues. From feedback following the workshop, it was apparent that attendees were impressed by the message that religion-related problems in jails can be minimized by employing professional correctional chaplains. They were also appreciative of ACCA being available to them as a prime resource on religious matters.
