MISSION Uniting, encouraging and equipping prison chaplains around the world as they offer God's love and restoring justice to those involved in conflict with the law

The International Prison Chaplains' Association is involved in:

  • Helping chaplains around the world to network with one another
  • Encouraging chaplains who work in extremely difficult contexts to carry on sharing God's good news of reconciliation
  • Supporting chaplains through prayer, literature and material resources whenever possible
  • Training, particularly in the area of Restorative Justice, through a partnership with Queen's Theological College
  • Facilitating communication through newsletters, electronic mail, a web site, a theological review Justice Reflections, and a worldwide conference every five years
  • Bringing matters of criminal and social justice and human rights to the attention of governments and correctional services
  • Bringing hope and light to those involved in conflict with the law, so that we are not overcome with evil, but that evil is overcome with good.

We are an international organization with an elected Steering Committee representing the 6 regions of the world. We are incorporated in Canada as a charitable organization with a small volunteer staff. What do we need?

  • Prayer - for IPCA, chaplains, staff, inmates, victims, families and broken communities worldwide
  • Office space and technical support
  • Regular funding
  • More staff to respond to the multiplying demands
  • Resources to train and send out teaching teams for the long list of requests we have for training around the world
  • Partners willing to become involved with us

Justice Reflections is a new publication and is promoted by the International Prison Chaplains' Association (IPCA).

JR is published three times a year. Each issue consists of five or six papers in English of 2-8000 words on theological insights into ethical, moral, pastoral or restorative aspects of justice.

It is a collection of worldwide papers linking Christian ideas with matters of justice. JR is open to insights from all faiths. JR seeks to strike a balance between the too academic and the too simplistic. It will hopefully be a theological stimulus for many who are connected with victims and offenders.
