Faith and Character Community Program Coordinator
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is seeking applicants interested in a rewarding and challenging position as the Faith and Character Community Program Coordinator at R.B. “Dick” Conner Correctional Center located in Hominy, Oklahoma. DCCC is a medium security facility for male offenders. The Faith and Character Community Program is expanding to DCCC after successfully completing its first year at two other facilities. This program provides opportunities for offenders to make positive behavioral changes through one of two tracks – either faith or character. Both tracks employ cognitive behavioral methods to promote behavioral change. Required education and experience: Bachelors degree in humanities, theology or a related field and three years or professional experience in corrections, social services or ministry, including at least one year of supervisory experience. The Dauphin County Prison is currently accepting applications for the full-time, varied shift position of Prison Chaplain. An employee in this position ensures availability of pastoral care to inmates; provides support or advice or arranges provisions of same by clergy or religious persons of other denominations/faiths as necessary; devises activities and programs to assist inmates in spiritual orientation; consults with staff and community based persons to ensure timely service.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; plus an appropriate post graduate degree in Divinity, Theology, or Ministry from an accredited seminary; plus ordination into the ministry of his/her faith/denomination and maintenance of good standing therein, significant pastoral experience in the community; and formal training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or its equivalent.
